Doctor-Led Consultation for Lines & Wrinkles in Battersea, London
A personalised approach to facial lines and movement
Every face moves differently. During your consultation, Dr Kate assesses your facial expression, muscle activity, facial proportions and skin quality to understand what is contributing to the concern you would like to address.
Lines and wrinkles can develop through repeated facial movement, changes in collagen and elastin, skin ageing, sun exposure and changes in facial structure over time. Treatment should therefore be based on careful assessment of the individual face rather than a standard approach.
The aim is not to remove all expression, but to soften the areas that concern you while respecting your natural anatomy, facial balance and individual pattern of movement. Treatment is planned conservatively to help you look refreshed and well rested—never frozen or unlike yourself.
Consultations are available at Dr Kate BB Aesthetics in Nine Elms, Battersea, conveniently located for patients travelling from Clapham and across South West London.
Patients who proceed with treatment are offered a complimentary review approximately two weeks later.

Natural results that preserve facial expression
One of the most common concerns patients have is looking “frozen” or unlike themselves.
Dr Kate takes a conservative, anatomy-led approach, tailoring every treatment plan to the strength and pattern of your individual facial movement. The aim is not to remove all expression, but to soften the areas that concern you while maintaining natural movement, facial balance and individual character.
There is no standard injection pattern applied to every patient. Your treatment plan is based on your anatomy, muscle activity, skin quality and the degree of movement you would personally like to retain.
For many patients, the ideal result is simply to look fresher, more rested and less tired or tense—without looking noticeably “done.”
Frequently asked questions
Will I still look natural?
Maintaining natural facial expression is central to Dr Kate’s approach. Treatment is tailored to your anatomy, muscle strength and individual pattern of movement rather than applying the same treatment plan to every patient.
The aim is generally to soften excessive movement while preserving appropriate expression and helping you continue to look like yourself.
Can forehead lines be treated without looking frozen?
For suitable patients, forehead lines can often be softened without removing all movement.
Careful assessment is particularly important because the forehead muscles help raise the brows. The amount and placement of treatment must therefore be tailored to your anatomy, natural brow position and the degree of expression you would like to retain.
Can treatment create a non-surgical brow lift?
For suitable patients, carefully planned treatment may produce a subtle lift towards the outer brow and help the eye area appear more open.
The result depends on your natural brow position, forehead movement, eyelid anatomy and the balance of the surrounding muscles. A non-surgical brow lift is generally subtle and is not equivalent to a surgical brow lift.
Dr Kate will assess whether this approach is appropriate for you, as treating the forehead incorrectly can sometimes increase brow heaviness.
What causes frown lines?
Frown lines commonly develop through repeated movement of the muscles between the eyebrows, combined with age-related changes in collagen, skin elasticity and sun exposure.
Over time, lines that initially appear only during expression can become visible while the face is at rest.
What causes crow’s feet?
Crow’s feet develop through repeated movement around the eyes, as well as changes in skin thickness, collagen, elasticity and sun exposure.
Treatment recommendations depend on whether the main concern is muscle activity, skin quality or a combination of both.
Can I have a very subtle result?
Yes, a conservative approach can be considered where clinically appropriate.
Your treatment plan will be tailored to your anatomy, facial movement and desired degree of change. Dr Kate will discuss what can realistically be achieved while maintaining an appropriate degree of natural expression.
When will I see a result?
The timeframe depends on the treatment selected. For prescription treatments affecting muscle activity, changes usually develop gradually rather than immediately.
Dr Kate will explain the expected timeframe during your consultation.
How long do results last?
The duration of a result varies according to the treatment chosen, individual anatomy, metabolism, muscle activity and previous treatment history.
Expected longevity and maintenance will be discussed during your consultation.
Is a review included after treatment?
Yes. All eligible patients are offered a complimentary review approximately two weeks after treatment, allowing Dr Kate to assess the result once it has had sufficient time to develop.
Any adjustment will only be considered where clinically appropriate and in relation to the original treatment plan.
Can I have treatment during my consultation?
Treatment may be possible during the same appointment if you are medically suitable, have received the necessary information and feel ready to proceed.
There is no obligation to have treatment on the day. You are welcome to take time to consider the options discussed during your consultation.

Your consultation and treatment journey
What happens during your consultation?
Your consultation includes an assessment of your facial anatomy, muscle movement, skin quality, medical history and treatment goals.
Dr Kate will ask what concerns you and what you would like to achieve before assessing how your face moves both at rest and during expression.
She will explain which treatment options may be appropriate, what can realistically be achieved, the potential risks and alternatives, and whether treatment is suitable for you.
Where your concern may be caused by something other than muscle activity—for example, skin quality, volume loss, facial structure or an underlying medical or dental issue—this will also be discussed.
What treatment options might be discussed?
Not every facial line or concern requires the same treatment.
Depending on your anatomy, skin quality, medical history and goals, appropriate options may include medical-grade skincare, regenerative skin treatments, dermal treatments or, where clinically appropriate following consultation, prescription treatment.
Botulinum toxin, including Botox®, is a prescription-only medicine that temporarily reduces nerve signalling to selected muscles. It is considered only after an individual medical consultation and assessment. Suitability, expected effects, limitations, potential risks and alternative options will be discussed before any prescription or treatment decision is made.
What happens if I decide to proceed?
If you are medically suitable and feel ready to proceed, treatment may be performed following your consultation.
Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual anatomy, muscle activity and desired degree of movement. Dr Kate uses a precise and conservative approach, particularly when treating patients for the first time or anyone concerned about retaining natural expression.
There is no obligation to have treatment during your consultation, and Dr Kate will not recommend or perform a procedure she does not believe is clinically appropriate for you.
What happens after treatment?
You will receive clear aftercare instructions and information about when your results are expected to develop.
All eligible patients are offered a complimentary review approximately two weeks after treatment, once the result has had sufficient time to develop. This allows Dr Kate to assess your response, answer any questions and consider whether any adjustment is clinically appropriate.
Further treatment is never automatic and will only be considered following assessment of your result, facial movement and original treatment plan.
Specific concerns and advanced assessments
In addition to commonly treated facial lines, Dr Kate provides detailed assessment for several concerns involving facial or muscle activity.
The same visible concern can have different underlying causes. Treatment recommendations are therefore based on your individual anatomy and assessment rather than appearance alone.
Brow position and non-surgical brow lift assessment
A low or heavy brow can sometimes make the upper eye area appear tired or hooded. During consultation, Dr Kate assesses your natural brow position, forehead movement, eyelid anatomy and the balance between the muscles that raise and lower the brows.
For suitable patients, carefully planned treatment may create a subtle non-surgical brow lift, particularly towards the outer brow, while maintaining natural facial expression.
However, this approach is not appropriate for everyone. Excessive relaxation of the forehead can sometimes increase brow heaviness, particularly in patients who naturally use their forehead muscles to support their brow position.
Treatment must therefore be planned conservatively according to your individual anatomy and pattern of movement.
Jaw slimming, masseters and teeth grinding
A wider or more square lower face can sometimes be caused by prominent masseter muscles. However, bone structure, facial fat, skin laxity and overall facial proportions may also contribute.
Dr Kate assesses the lower face as a whole before recommending treatment rather than assuming that every wider jaw is caused by muscle enlargement.
The assessment can also include symptoms such as jaw clenching, teeth grinding, morning jaw tension and TMJ-related discomfort. Where symptoms may require dental or specialist investigation, this will be explained during consultation.
For suitable patients, treatment of prominent masseter muscles may help create a softer lower-face shape. Outcomes vary according to the underlying anatomy and degree of muscle enlargement.
Facial asymmetry and Bell’s palsy
Some degree of facial asymmetry is completely normal. More noticeable asymmetry may relate to differences in muscle activity, facial structure, previous injury, surgery or a condition such as Bell’s palsy.
Dr Kate can assess facial movement at rest and during expression to understand which muscles are contributing to the imbalance.
Where appropriate, carefully planned aesthetic treatment may help improve facial balance. Treatment is always individualised according to the underlying cause, anatomy and pattern of movement.
Medical assessment or referral may be recommended when asymmetry is new, unexplained or accompanied by other symptoms.
Excessive sweating
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, can affect areas such as the underarms and may have a significant impact on confidence, clothing choices, work and everyday life.
A medical consultation is required to review your symptoms, medical history and any possible underlying causes before appropriate treatment options are discussed.
Where prescription treatment is considered clinically appropriate, its expected effects, risks, limitations and alternatives will be explained as part of the consultation.
